Holiday Cookies
December 15, 2016Get set to make a batch of Holiday Cookies. Don’t worry, it’s not a complicated recipe. In fact, it’s easy enough that you can have the kids help. Enjoy.
Cookie Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon orange extract (or almond)
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- 4 ½ cups flour
Frosting Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon dry Jell-O gelatin (any flavor)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 3 tablespoons sprinkles
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar together. Now, add your eggs, salt, baking powder, vanilla, and orange (or almond) extract to the mixture. Once mixed, add flour 1 cup at a time until thoroughly combined.
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Roll out your dough on a lightly floured surface to 3/8” thin. Cut using cookie cutters and place on a cookie sheet. Put your cookies into the oven for 7 minutes. Once done, place them on a cooling rack or paper towels.
While your cookies are in the oven, start the frosting. Simply combine all ingredients (except sprinkles) in a bowl and whisk until blended.
When cookies are cool to the touch, spread frosting on each one and top with sprinkles.
